Multi-Step Equations Partner Problems

CHAPTER 1 & 2

Work with 1 other person.

One person does the questions on the left, the other person does the questions on the right column of the sheet.

You have different questions, but your answers will be the same for each problem number. If you get the same answers you know you did it right. If you get different answers, analyze each other's work until you both get the same number for the answer.

Activity takes about 20 minutes.

One-Step, Two-Step Equations Worksheet (The one with boxes)

CHAPTER 1 & 2

This worksheet summarizes different types of equations we learned to solve in chapters 1 and 2.

Do this independently, but ask other people for help when you need it.

Be sure to check your answers!

This review takes about 10-20 minutes

Equation Maze

CHAPTER 1 & 2

Solve the equation in the box that says "start"

Look to see if the answer you got is one of the ones branching off that box. If it is, circle that answer and go to the next box it leads you to.

You are finished when you get to the "end" box. Not all boxes will be used.

Check your answers when you are done!

This activity takes about 10-20 minutes.

Stations Maze

CHAPTER 1 & 2

Start at a station, copy down what station number you started at.

Do the question and look for the answer in the choices. The answer tells you what station to go to next.

Repeat this process by doing the questions and going to the stations it tells you to until you are back where you started at. You will go through 10 stations.

Be sure to copy down the station numbers you go to so you can check your answers at the end to see if you did them in the right order.

Parts of a Graph Vocabulary

CHAPTER 3

Use the vocabulary word bank to fill in the boxes/blanks. Some words are used twice. Some boxes have more than one word if they have more than one meaning.

Check your answers when you are finished or when you are stuck.

This should take no longer than 15 minutes.

Direct Variation Jenga

CHAPTER 3

How to Play:

  • Each team builds their own tower

  • The person who has the birthday closest to today's date goes first. They push one block out, but one that isn't on the top two rows.

  • There will be a number on that block that corresponds to the question on your paper. Each person does the question independently.

  • Once everyone is finished, someone other than the play who pulled that block looks at the answer and shares it with the group.

  • If the person who pulled the block is correct, he or she will earn the points for that question. If the person is wrong, they will LOSE those points. Yes, there can be negative scores.

You can do these questions on whiteboards, just make sure you do not erase your answer until it is verified as correct or incorrect to earn your points. You must keep track of your own points.

Scavenger Hunt

CHAPTER 3

I Can Write Equations Given...

CHAPTER 4

This activity helps you organize all the ways you can write equations in slope intercept form. You are given different information to start with in each question so you will have a different, yet similar, process for each one. All answers should be written in slope-intercept form.

This should take about 15 minutes.
